Why should I get a service?
You should get your boiler serviced regularly to make sure it’s working properly.
If your boiler is still under the manufacturers warranty you are required to have the boiler serviced as per the manufacturers recommendation to maintain the validity of the warranty.
A faulty boiler could waste you money on energy and might even start leaking poisonous carbon monoxide. Because the gas is colourless and scentless, it’s hard to tell if one of your appliances starts leaking carbon monoxide – so you should get them serviced by a Gas Safe Registered engineer once a year.
What is included in a service:
- I will inspect your boiler and controls to make sure they’re working properly.
- I will check your boiler for wear/tear or leaks.
- I will take off the casing of your boiler to inspect the main components.
- I will check the gas pressure.
- I will inspect gas meter for faults/condition
- I will test the flue to make sure it’s not emitting any unsafe fumes.
- I will clean the parts (if tests indicate they need it or recommend any future likely part replacements).
- I will check the seal integrity of your boiler for your safety.
- I will leave you with a checklist of information about your boiler’s condition and any recommendations.
